I did try to remove it, an error message displayed.

Question: What will happen to my 15 months stats history if I remove it.

What error message? Did you try removing it via FTP?

No idea about your stats – maybe someone else has an answer. I didn’t read through the other thread but maybe someone there can help or it’s already been mentioned.

EDIT – I see you’ve already posted over there. Hope someone can give you a hand.

I guessed that the error may have been with regard to WP Super Cache plug-in … and it was!

(1) Deleted WP Super Cache plug-in (had intended to do so in any case).

(2) De-activated Jetpack plugin

(3) Deleted WP Stats plugin

(4) Re-activated Jetpack plugin

Hey presto! Stats history is all intact……Jetpack okay.

PS. I tried this on a smaller site first as I was concerned re: stats history…which remained intact.

How do you deactivate stats?
How do you activate JetPack?

I am a newbie.
I uploaded the files via drag and drop from the unzipped JetPack folder to my blog folder, but can’t figure out how to activate JetPack on WordPress.

Can you help?

@millsja: you need to install the plugin via the plugin interface or upload the folder via FTP to /wp-content/plugins/
