Jetpack 2.1.2 breaks my theme

    I’m having a problem with Jetpack interfering with my theme. I use the Chameleon theme by Elegant Themes. The theme works fine when Jetpack 2.1.2 is activated. However, when I connect it to WP, the slider on my theme doesn’t load its images. Elegant says it’s a plug-in problem and won’t touch it. Any suggestions? I really value the information the Jetpack stats provide, as well as the sleek widgets, though I’m not interested in it breaking other functions on my site.

  • I am sorry for the trouble. The incompatibility with Photon is already being addressed in the next version of our themes. It takes some time to update all 80 themes, but we are working hard to do so! In the meantime, disabling Photon will bring your thumbnails back.

    I was able to get my pics working by disabling the Photon feature. One thing that threw me at first was that I had never ENABLED it. Perhaps in the future it would be better to make it clear which parts of Jetpack are “on” and which aren’t so if there’s a problem you can easily see what components you need to turn off in order to speed up troubleshooting. Since I use Jetpack for the widgets, I only thought that the things I had actually put in the widgets window were activated, and “Learn More” doesn’t sound/look like “on” to me. I now realize that when you activate the Jetpack you activate a lot of things and never actually turn them “ON” or “enable” them specifically.

    I’m new to WP so the learning curve is steep.

    Hallo,
    again Elegant theme Flexible. I use WJP on many pages without problems. Just this one after upload newest version WJP all images in portfolio and post are broken. They display just on click on post as header alone post. I want to use WJP – shortcode are perfect and FB also. I don’t want to holed disable WJP.

    idem with my Envisionned 1.9 theme.
    OK with Jetpack
    but slide featured KO with Photon
