Gladly @jeremy Herve.
I just
- manually reinstalled Jetpack
- at WordPress > Plugins activated the Jetpack plugin (as before, this caused my site to crash)
- connected Jetpack to my WordPress.com account
- at Jetpack > Settings > WordPress.com Stats> Configure selected the box next to “Hide the stats smiley face image” and then Save configuration
My website remained down, just blank screens.
In order, I then deactivated each of the following modules (which were the ones activated upon installation; I didn’t activate any modules on my own), refreshing my browser after each one to see if my website was back (I didn’t reactivate any modules before moving on to the next one):
- Beautiful Math
- Contact Form
- Custom CSS
- Custom Content Types
- Enhanced Distribution
- Extra Sidebar Widget
- Gravar Hovercards
- JSON API
- Jetpack Comments
- Monitor
- Notifications
- Omnisearch
- Post by Email
- Publicize
- Sharing
- Shortcode Embeds
- Site Verification
- Spelling and Grammar
- Subscriptions
- Widget Visibility
- WordPress.com Stats
At this point all JetPack modules were deactivated. My site remained blank. So I returned to WordPress > Plugins and deactivated the Jetpack plugin, restoring my site.
Thanks again for your help. Any other suggestions?
