    Hi Folks,

I’m using Jetpack 9.9.1 in Offline (Dev) Mode.

After updating to 9.9.1 from 9.8.1, I’m getting the following Chrome Inspector Console error when engaging the Jetpack Carousel:

jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=3.3.2:2 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 3.3.2
    null:1 GET https://vonwyk.wpengine.com/interiors/null 404
    Image (async)
    _ @ jetpack-carousel.min.js?ver=9.9.1:3
    C @ jetpack-carousel.min.js?ver=9.9.1:3
    I.a.onload @ jetpack-carousel.min.js?ver=9.9.1:3
    load (async)
    I @ jetpack-carousel.min.js?ver=9.9.1:3
    (anonymous) @ jetpack-carousel.min.js?ver=9.9.1:3

    Example:
    https://vonwyk.wpengine.com/interiors/

This has occurred on two out two sites that I’ve updated. Carousel functionality doesn’t seem to be affected.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hi there

I’m not seeing any error message there, just information about jquery-migrate, which ensures backward compatibility.

I’m also not able to reproduce that message. Are you able to provide a screenshot?

To clarify, the screenshot referenced above is from Chrome on Mac OS.

    Issue also seen on:

    * Safari on Mac OS (not tested on Firefox for Mac).
    * Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on Windows 10.

    Hello @detroitwidget

    Glad to help!

Could you confirm if all the software (WordPress Core, plugins, and the theme) is updated, please?

And could you test connecting your Jetpack to the system and check if the error remains, please?

Let me know if you have any questions.

    My best regards,

    Michelle C.

    Hello, there.

Happy to hear this doesn’t appear to have a negative effect on your carousel, at least.

Can you confirm if your production site also gets the same message in your inspector? Or is it just your staging site?

There is no “production” site yet.

Also — whether production or staging — I use just a few Jetpack modules that don’t require a connection, so only use it in Dev (offline) Mode.

In any case, until version 9.9.1, I’ve never seen this error before.

    Thanks for your help.

    PS
When I stated that Carousel functionality hadn’t been impacted, I was wrong. All of my image descriptions are now hidden. Though I doubt this is related to the console errors.

    Hi @detroitwidget

In Jetpack 9.9.1, there were some bug fixes related to Carousel specifically. There have been some reports of new issues after Jetpack 9.9.1 came out (in some specific situations) which are being investigated at the moment.

It’s possible the console notices are linked so I will pass this on to be safe, and we would be interested to know if the next Jetpack version removes those console errors you are currently seeing. Thanks for sharing these details!
