Jetpack and Trending Sidebar

    Hi there,

    We are using Zeen theme and engine. For the sidebar, we have Zeen’s trending posts which pulls from Jetpack. It’s set to show the trending posts from the last 7 days.

    However, since the beginning of the year, it’s not updating and showing old posts. I disabled all plugins to finally see it is caused by Jetpack and I’m not sure why.

    The homepage also has a trending section but doesn’t have this issue. It’s only the sidebar in posts/pages.

    Cache is fully cleared.


    Any idea?

    I took a look and your Jetpack connection looks great. You mentioned that Zeen pulls trending posts from Jetpack, but I think you also indicated that when is disabled it works correctly – am I understanding that right? Can you tell me more about how Zeen pulls the trending posts from Jetpack? I’m not familiar with Zeen.

    Do you have any caching plugins on your site or server that can be cleared to see if that helps out?

    So the only time it changes is when Jetpack is disabled. When I enable it again, it goes back to showing the same older ones as trending. As if Jetpack is cached

    All caching checked already

    Thanks for the update, To debug the issue further, please run the following test on your website and let us know what you find out.

    Temporarily switch the theme on your website to Twenty Twenty-Three ( you can use the Theme Switcha plugin for the switch ) -> Add Jetpack Top Posts & Pages Widget to one of the widget areas in the theme -> Check on the front to see if the widget shows latest posts or old ones.

    If the widget shows correct and updated posts with the Twenty Twenty-Three theme then this will indicate an issue with the Zeen theme and you will need to contact the theme developers for help.

    Let us know what you find out.
