In connection with connecting jetpack via mailchimp on my original website: https://tinyflowerstudio.dk, Jetpack automatically connects to another email address, where I suddenly get directed to a new site with the same content, i.e. a copied website with same domain but on https://wordpress.com/me – but I have an original website with the domain https://tinyflowerstudio.dk – where the host is on Simply.com.

Can I delete everything on the copied website located at https://wordpress.com/me without deleting my original website at tinyflowerstudio.dk? or what should I do because I’m desperate to fix this problem jetpack has created

  • Jetpack allows you to connect your https://tinyflowerstudio.dk/ site to your WordPress.com account. When Jetpack is connected, the site will also appear in your WordPress.com account. This allows you to access features within WordPress.com, such as connecting Mailchimp, and manage parts of the site from within WordPress.com. However, the site is still hosted with simply.com. You can learn more about that here: https://jetpack.com/support/why-the-wordpress-com-connection-is-important-for-jetpack/

Right now, Jetpack is not able to connect to your site. It looks like something is blocking Jetpack from accessing the site’s XML-RPC file, which is preventing Jetpack from connecting. Jetpack needs to be connected in order for Jetpack features, like Mailchimp, to

I’d suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to check their security logs for any blocked requests to the xmlrpc.php file on your site, using the Jetpack by WordPress.com user agent.

You can also ask them to allow our IP addresses listed here: https://jetpack.com/support/how-to-add-jetpack-ips-allowlist/

Please note that these IP addresses could change (or more could be added) at any time, which could break your connection to Jetpack. For this reason, we actually discourage whitelisting specific IPs, although with some hosts it may be the only option.

    Hey @seoderudaf,

It has been a few days since we have not heard from you. Did you have a chance to contact your host?

I have examined your site again with our rate limit test, and it shows Server Response: 406 Not Acceptable– you can share this information with your host along with the IPs addresses that we need them to allow (see the previous reply from us).

    Hi

I did speak to the host, where they haven`t been able to help me.

Since there was no clarity about the error with the host, I disconnected from Jetpack to have the original site as my host thought I could just delete everything from the copied site on worldpress/me.

Therefore, I have done nothing afterwards, and have not contacted my host, as I fear repetition with a copied site and no function of mailchimp

    Hi @seoderudaf

It wasn’t that your site was copied, there was only always just one site.

When you use your WordPress.com account to connect Jetpack, it allows you to manage your site from your wp-admin dashboard, or from your WordPress.com dashboard. It’s the same site, just two different ways to manage it.
