In the WordPress menu of My Home, I get an error message saying “Jetpack can’t communicate with your site because your site isn’t connected.”

This has disabled my site and turned it private so no one can view it.

When I go to Jetpack in the menu, it says Jetpack is connected and there is no options to disconnect or reconnect/reestablishing connection.

When I go to settings to “launch site”, I get the error message, “The Jetpack site is inaccessible or returned an error: server error. Requested method jetpack.jsonAPI does not exist. [-32601]”

I’ve disabled every plugin and the error message saying it can’t communicate with your site.

The xmlrpc.php file is correct and reads “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only>” which apparently is what it is suppose to do.

I’ve contacted support and not getting a reply. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out to us. We handle support requests in the order they are received. If you have a Jetpack plan, email support will still be the fastest way for you to get help.

Would you mind sharing your site with me? If you’re not comfortable sharing it here, we can still try some troubleshooting steps.

You mentioned Jetpack has disabled your site and turned it private. For clarity, is it requiring a password for your visitors, not loading for them, or something else?

It’s important to note that Jetpack won’t turn your site private as one of the requirements to run Jetpack is a publicly accessible WordPress site.

To troubleshoot the connection, please try to disconnect and reconnect Jetpack. You mentioned there were no options to reconnect, so you may find this guide for reconnection helpful. Please also ensure that the JSON API module is active on your Modules Page.?

Additionally, regarding the xmlrpc.php file, is the “>” symbol at the end a typo, or is it an exact representation of your file? If it is present in the file, it could be causing an error.?

You said you disabled all your plugins – did you also try changing your theme to see if might be causing conflicts? You can change your theme by:

    1. Go to?Appearance → Themes?and switch to a default WordPress theme, like?Twenty Twenty Two.
    2. If the issue is resolved, then the problem is being caused by your theme. You can change your theme, or contact the author of your theme and ask them to fix the issue.

If none of these steps resolve the issue after your site is made publicly accessible, you may need to reach out to your hosting company and ask if they are disabling the Jetpack API.

    Hope this helps!

    Hello @wpsucks123,

Do you have updates about that? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
