Hello, I have always been a big fan of Jetpack. However, I have two websites I’m working on right now and BOTH of them started running SUPER SLOW & I was unable to make changes to my pages. I did some troubleshooting & disabled each plugin one at a time. The culprit was Jetpack. As soon as I disabled it, my site started performing normal & I could edit my site.

I HATE to lose the functionality of Jetpack. I use WordPress.com to manage all my sites and now it’s not there AND I use the Social publishing feature.

    My questions are:

    1. Is there another way to sync with WordPress.com. Or does it require Jetpack?
    2. Is anyone aware of another free solution for Social publishing. I don’t need it for my pages, but Idefinetly want it for Posts and Products.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

    Hi @jamorecords

There is no other way to sync with WordPress.com, but the social sharing option will work even without connecting your WordPress.com account to Jetpack.

Most of Jetpack is designed to speed up your site by taking the load off of your server, like our site accelerator, stats, subscriptions, related posts, etc., are all processed on our end (rather than hammering your database).

With that said, the more Jetpack modules you add, the more your site has to initially process, just like it would if you added a separate plugin for the features, so always make sure that you’re only using the Jetpack modules you want. Here’s how you can disable Jetpack modules that you are not using:

Let us know if that helps!

Also, I wonder perhaps if something is conflicting with Jetpack, thus resulting in the spike. Do you have the same problem when Jetpack is the only active plugin?
