    Jetpack Mechanic ??

I’m afraid that won’t be possible. The Jetpack comment form is hosted on WordPress.com and added to your site via an iFrame. As a result, you cannot customize it to remove or edit fields. We plan to add more customization options to the comment form in the future, but I don’t have an ETA at the moment.

Then how do I request this very basic functionality be added for the next update to the Jetpack plugin comments section? Is there a built in upper-limit or are you telling me that jetpack’s comments can theoretically be unlimited?!? That would be a web dev flaw.

It’s already on our roadmap. You can follow our progress in this ticket:

When you use Jetpack Comments, your comments remain stored in your WordPress database. The upper limit is consequently defined by WordPress.

WordPress stores your comments in the wp_comments table, in the comment_content row. That row uses the text type, thus limiting the content of each comment to 64 Kilobytes (65535 characters).
