    I found the issue when I was putting up a new post. When I tried to publish I got an alert saying I needed to reconnect to LinkedIn, and when I clicked on the alert to try to reconnect, all I got was a blank screen. So I went to WordPress.com and saw “The site cannot be accessed”. Then I went to site health and saw that the Wpcom connection test failed with the message “X Error Gems of Wisdom Consulting Inc. | Dr. Sharon T. Freeman is not connected.: 200”

    I’ve disconnected and reconnected Jetpack and that seemingly went well, but the error persists and WordPress.com still says the site cannot be accessed.

    When I run Jetpack Debug, I get: “XML-RPC is not responding correctly ( 409 )”. However, when I go to https://www.gemsofwisdomconsulting.com/web/xmlrpc.php I get the expected response.

    I have run thorough all the troubleshooting steps (update all, disable plugins, use default theme, etc…) to no avail.

    Most of Jetpack (stats, etc…) seems functional, but the connection error is disconcerting, and Linking to LinkedIn still fails.

    I have checked the website and was able to replicate the issue. A small part of our customers was experiencing the same issue while using the Jetpack plugin and XMLRPC access. We are aware of this issue and our Engineering team is working on it to investigate the cause and fix it. I’m afraid there is no exact ETA provided at the moment. Rest assured, we will work on all options from our end to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible. Additionally, I really appreciate your understanding and patience while we get this fixed.

    No, do not close this issue until it’s fixed. That is how a GOOD support team works.

    Other of your people are working this with other hosts. If a solution is found, I want to know, and pass it on if necessary.

    No I am not hosted with iPage (unless Verio is a reseller).

    Hey there, @rcharbonxx!

    Thank you for patiently waiting while we worked with your host on this.

    As I mentioned in your other thread, they’ve addressed the connection issues, and Jetpack should connect on sites they host.

    However, your site is sending us unexpected output when we attempt to communicate over xmlrpc.php. We might be able to resolve this by reinstalling Jetpack. Please follow these steps:

    1. Start at PluginsInstalled Plugins.
    2. If Jetpack is currently active, click Deactivate to disable it. Then click Delete to remove it from your site:
    3. Go to Plugins? → Add New.
    4. Search for “Jetpack by WordPress.com”.
    5. Click Install and then Activate.

    When Jetpack is installed, click the green Set up Jetpack button to reconnect.

    You shouldn’t lose any settings or any of your stats or subscribers in doing so, as that info is stored in our system here.

    Considering that Jetpack is currently uninstalled, this is no surprise. I’ll post an update when I reinstall.

    What makes you think the issue should be resolved?

    When I attempted to activate, I got “The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site https://www.gemsofwisdomconsulting.com/web [HTTP 500]”

    Still get a 406 error when clicking on https://www.gemsofwisdomconsulting.com/web/xmlrpc.php?for=jetpack

    Whoever marked this resolved is not a good support person. Open the case back up until I confirm that the problem is REALLY resolved.

    Your hosting provider had let us know they had fixed the issue for all their customers a couple of days ago. However, looking at your site today, I see that the problem is stil there for your site.

    We’ve reached out to them again to let them know. Do you think you could do the same on our end?

    We’re not in touch with a specific person at Verio; instead we’re in touch with the team managing incidents for all EIG customers (EIG being the group managing your host).

    Let us know what the folks at Verio say though!

    It seems to be working now if I revert PHP from 7.4 to 7.3. Verio says they know about this and are trying to resolve it.
