After clicking to accept cookies on the Jetpack Cookies and Consent banner, a thin grey line is left at the bottom of the screen which remains in the same place on the screen when the window is scrolled up. It doesn’t seem to matter in which widget area the banner is inserted, it’s always in the same place. Sorry I can’t show you it in action as I don’t want to leave this line across the website.

    Hi there,

Can you provide a link to your site? I’ve seen cases of this happening where the problem was actually with the theme. We’d need to see the issue in order to confirm. Else can you at least tell us which theme you have active on your site?

The website is https://www.gwrgolf.co.uk, using the theme Weaver II.
    Thanks for the swift response!

Does the issue still happen under the Twenty Nineteen theme?

No idea. I’m afraid I’m not willing to change the theme to try it because it’s likely to mess up all the settings; I’ll just have to find another way of doing it if Jetpack doesn’t work.

I don’t see the cookie banner on your site now. Have you already removed it?

You can use the troubleshooting mode in the Health Check plugin to check your site in a different theme without it affecting your live site, should you want to investigate this further.

It does appear that Weaver II has been retired, which makes it even more likely that this is an issue on the theme’s end. See:

    https://weavertheme.com/why-weaver/

So you might want to consider switching to the new version of that theme, as recommended by the theme developer.

Yes, I took the banner off again right away, as stated in my first post.

I don’t want to upgrade the theme as the upgraded theme does not include features that I’m currently using.

I’ll have to find a workaround for the cookie banner, then.
    Thanks.

Switching to the Twenty Nineteen theme will not a permanent change.

You can safely switch just long enough to see if the same problem is present on that theme, then switch back when you’re done.
