I’m trying to use this plugin which seems to be really nice, but I’m having trouble importing the content from my old system.
I’m importing via CSV and I’m getting the error “Your file is not a correctly-formatted CSV file. Please check your file format. If you continue to have issues please contact support.”

I’ve already checked the CSV and all the formatting is correct with comma separation.
I already checked that there are some columns with double quotes.
I already checked that there are no incorrect characters.

  • Hi @lpcs007!

Please make sure there are no extra spaces or linebreaks.

Also, have you tried checking the sample CSV files on this guide: https://kb.jetpackcrm.com/knowledge-base/what-should-my-csv-be-formatted-like/

..and try to set up your contacts list based on the sample? Please try cutting off your contacts to maybe at least 3, and then check it based on the sample fiel and try to upload it again.

If you’re still having issues, we can try to check your .csv file and try to upload it on our test site to see what might be wrong. If it’s ok for you to share that, you can share a google drive link with your .csv file (please make sure it’s publicly accessible). You can choose to narrow it down to 3 contacts.

    Thank you!

I tested importing the example you provided, and the import completed without any issues. That tells us there is likely an issue with the specific CSV file you are using.

I understand you’ve already checked that CSV file for a few things. I would encourage you to check it again, as even just one character or space could cause the problem, and could be easily overlooked when scanning through the file.

I’d encourage you to look at the CSV file in text format, as that may help you spot extra spaces that aren’t visible in a spreadsheet format..

but I tried using the same CSV I sent you and it didn’t work.
Do you think it could be a permission issue? perhaps permission on the folder where the CSV should be saved.

I created a contact in the plugin manually and exported it to CSV and changed the email to not overwrite the current one and tried to import it as if it were a new contact and got the same error: “Your file is not a correctly-formatted CSV file. Please check your file format. If you continue to have issues please contact support.”

Can you please make sure the CSV file is saved with a filename that ends in .csv (all lowercase)?

    (@lpcs007)

yes, the filename is .csv in lowercase

    Hi @lpcs007!

I have also successfully imported the .csv file you shared. Hmm.. Could you please try deactivating other plugins just to rule out any possible plugin conflict, if there is?

And please try checking your wp-config.php file and .htaccess file to see if there is some rule set related to uploads.

Let us know how it goes.
