When I create a blog post using jetpack, the post isn’t display the same as I created. Example, I have Jetpack set to post on a facebook page and my website. I create the content using Jetpack on my phone. I insert a block for a single main image, add some text then below I add a gallery block with additional pictures. When it posts on facebook, my selected primary image is replaced by some image from the gallery block. Is there a way to ensure my first image, the one in the single image bock, isn’t changed to another image??

    Hi @zona5101

When it posts on facebook, my selected primary image is replaced by some image from the gallery block.

Have you tried setting the primary image as the featured image as well?

When sharing a post to Facebook, their algorithm uses the following priority order to determine which image to associate with a published post:

    1. Featured image.
    2. An image from a slideshow.
    3. An image from a gallery.
    4. Any other image in the post that is hosted on the site.
    5. An image in the post not hosted on the site (linked from elsewhere.)
    6. Your Gravatar image, as a last resort.

For a higher chance that Facebook fetched your desired image to show as a link preview, it is best to adhere to their recommended image specifications:

    • Images that are at least 1200 x 630 pixels for the best display on high-resolution devices. At a minimum, you should use images that are 600 x 315 pixels to display link page posts with larger images.
    • Images as close to 1.91:1 aspect ratio as possible to display the full image in News Feed without any cropping.

Lastly, if you wish to explicitly set an image that goes with the post, this feature is available as part of Social Advanced.

If you still have trouble with a post, please share the link. If you do not want to post it publicly on this forum, you can contact us privately?via this contact form. If you choose to reach out directly, please include a link to this thread.
