When I first added Jetpack’s email subscription widget to the sidebar of my site (maybe 2 months ago), it worked fine. I was able to test it out myself and had another person subscribe using it as well. In those cases, the confirmation email was sent correctly (although in my case it went to spam) and every time I post to my site I get an email about the new post. However, recently the widget has stopped working. New users (and myself once I tested it again multiple times) never receive the confirmation email and so are unable to complete the signup process. There was another topic on this issue from last year that was resolved which I commented on originally, but the user never explained exactly what they did to resolve this issue. I also have wordpress, my theme, and all my plugins up to date. I’m using www.ads-software.com, not .com by the way if that makes any difference.
I’ve also disabled the widget for now since it was just taking up space, but I can re-add it to my site if anyone needs it there to test the issue. I’m also not sure when exactly this issue started, but it was only recently brought to my attention.

  • Hi @doublesama,

It’s likely the confirmation email was sent, but it went to the spam/promotions/social folder in the recipient’s email account. If that email gets missed for some reason, the only way to reset the process is to contact us.

We’re happy to take care of this for you. Would you reach out to us privately and include the email addresses that are having this problem? You can reach us here:

    Thanks!

    Hi @gemmaevans,

The issue didn’t appear to be involving the confirmation being sent to a spam or any other folder. I have a few email accounts that I used to test it myself and was unable to locate the confirmation email anywhere despite finding it in my spam the very first time I set up and tested the widget.

However, I have since tested out another email subscription widget and had the same issue, so I no longer believe this is a Jetpack email subscription plugin issue, but rather an issue with something else on my site.

Thank you for your response though! I’ll try to figure out what’s really wrong now and hopefully get back to using Jetpack soon.

Thanks for letting us know! There are some email accounts that are currently in a pending state, so if the owners of those accounts try to subscribe again, they won’t receive a confirmation email again.

If you run across any more complaints from other folks, please feel free to reach out to us in support with their email address. We’re happy to take care of it for you. ??
