• `Hi.

    We’ve been struggling with connecting Jetpack to facebook and twitter for a couple of weeks. We raised a ticket with our hosting company and they have checked their logs but the plugin isn’t hitting the server at all while trying to make the connection to either social network.

    These are the steps we have followed…
    1. login to the admin
    2. go into Jetpack -> My Jetpack
    3. click Social -> Manage
    4. Click “Connect your social media accounts”
    5. Click “Connect” button on either facebook or twitter and then login to your social account and grant access
    6. You then get the error message – 500 status code for “POST /sites/*********/publicize-connections/new”

    We already deactivated and deleted the plugin more than once but still we get the error.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey there,

    That is a server-side error from your web host. I suggest checking your PHP error log (or ask your host to check) to see if there are any notices from around the time this error showed up.

    Here’s a Jetpack guide on troubleshooting connection issues. And you can reach out to JetPack support with that log and they’ll likely be able to point you in the right direction.
