JetPack will not activate for Portfolio section of home page. Sent numerous messages to WP.com called host, GoDaddy, several times, nothing from either to solve the problem. XMLRPC file is accessible in my security but error 404 is continual- site_inaccessible. Help!

  • Hi there,

Where are you seeing the site_inaccessible error specifically? Is it in your admin area or on a page of your site? If the error is on a page of your site, please share that page with me in your next reply.

The following are good initial troubleshooting steps:

    • Ensure that you have the latest version of Jetpack and Harmonic via Dashboard > Updates in your admin area.
    • Navigate to Settings > Permalinks and click on the Save Changes button. This will serve to completely flush your permalink settings and can sometimes resolve issues with custom post types (like portfolios).
    • Disable other plugins on your site one by one to check if one of them is causing the trouble.
    • Switch to one of the temporary themes (like Twenty Fifteen) to see if portfolios work correctly with it.

Try those steps and let me know those few extra details about the problem, we can then continue troubleshooting.

In addition, if you let me know account you wrote to WordPress.com support from then I can look it up in our system.
