I’m having trouble to connect from jetpack to WordPress.

The plugin was still working this morning but I deactivated it and wanted to activate it again and then the error came: see under

Foutdetails: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site https://kingsmeadguesthouse.com [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds]

Please help me, because my hosting provider says it has to be solved by jetpack but I am not very technical so I am completely lost. Please help me with that

    Hi there,

Your site is properly connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack. I ran several tests using the Jetpack Debugger and couldn’t find a single error with your connection.

Are you still having trouble with it?

    Hello Fotis,

That’s true, it is fixed now. The problem was something with a whitelist. Hereby the answer I got from my hosting provider:

It was not your IP that was blacklisted, but an incomplete list of IP’s from JetPack itself.
By giving the list of IPs from https://whois.arin.net/rest/org/AUTOM-93/nets access to XMLRPC, the problem is solved.

However, on the website of jetpack itself, under support, there is another list, which IPs is missing: https://jetpack.com/support/hosting-faq/

We use neatly the information that Jetpack has given us and if it is incomplete, then unfortunately these kinds of issues can occur, it is impossible for us to actively engage the developers for every CMS to ask from which IP addresses they come. .

To protect your website from XMLRPC attacks, we specifically allow only shorthanded IPs. If we do not do this, many WordPress websites are continuously attacked, which does not benefit the workability.

By giving the list of IPs from https://whois.arin.net/rest/org/AUTOM-93/nets access to XMLRPC, the problem is solved.

We double-checked the connection, and it still looks good to us.

    Keep in mind:

Important: these IP addresses are current as of 2018-05-28, but are subject to change. If you are writing IP-based firewall rules, you’ll need to update those rules any time the addresses change.

If you ever encounter an issue like this again, you may want to try following all of the steps here, as well.

If you have additional questions, please let us know!

    @stijnelbers

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so we’re going to mark this as resolved. If you have any further questions, please start a new thread.
