This has been an issue for weeks now (maybe longer). But logged-in users see a reblog box that looks nasty and shouldn’t be there. There is literally no option/setting for this anywhere within Jetpack that we can find and now it is causing scrolling issues (if someone clicks on a story from any archive/search page, it opens and then scrolls down to this box). This has become more than annoying to the extent that we are considering disabling Jetpack and replacing its components with other plugins.

  • @jh20001 The Jetpack plugin does not have a Reblog option.

It is possible to manually add a Reblog button by adding custom code, but the button/code are not included in the standard Jetpack plugin: https://developer.jetpack.com/hooks/wpl_reblogging_enabled_sitewide/

It sounds like that code has been added to your theme or another plugin on the site, which is why it’s appearing. I’d recommend removing that theme or plugin, or contacting the people who make it for help removing that Reblog button/code.

If you need more help with that, please post your site URL here so that we can have a closer look.

If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form. If you choose to reach out directly, please include a link to this thread.

And yet when you hover over (or click on) the cancel link, it is a Jetpack URL (ie: https://jetpack.wordpress.com/jetpack-comment/?blogid=6922073&postid=86036&comment_registration=0&require_name_email=1&s….etc etc etc). The link goes on forever so I didn’t include the whole thing so it isn’t spammy here. I can provide the full link via msg or something.

The Reblog option is not available within the Jetpack plugin. However, there is code available that can be used to add it to a site, through Jetpack. That is why you are seeing Jetpack referenced there.

This means that the Reblog code has been added to your site, either through your theme, another plugin, or by adding custom code directly to the site.

Since the Reblog option is not included in the actual Jetpack plugin, we have no way of knowing what or where has added that code to your site.

To discover what has added that code, you can deactivate all other plugins except Jetpack and activate a default theme, like Twenty Twenty-Two. You can then reactivate the original plugins and theme, one by one, checking to see which plugin or theme brings back the Reblog option. Then you know the Reblog code is in that particular plugin or theme.

I hope that helps clarify things for you. Let us know how that goes.
