Jetpack Markdown help

I have Jetpack and Jetpack Markdown installed and enabled on this Genesis site with the Genesis basic theme.

My difficulty is getting the Markdown recognised and rendered — I am seeing the raw Markdown in the published post.

I am experienced with Markdown and have this working well elsewhere.
