• Hello,
I have some issue with nested comments.
I’m using Kadence starter template (cooking blog).
Each time i do reply, a new comment is created in place of replying to the selected comment.
If I disable the comments in jetpack (jetpack->discussion->let visitor.. to off) then the reply box from my theme (Kadence) is visible and I’m able to correctly create nested
    comments.

Do you have any idea about the root cause?
    and how to solve it.
Is there any incompatibility between Kadence theme and jetpack?

    Thank you

for reference, topic open at jetpack support : https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/nested-comments-9/

    Hey,
Thanks for reaching out! There shouldn’t be compatibility issues with Jetpack, but I’ll check with the developer and see what feedback he has.
    Thanks for your patience!

    Kindly,
    Hannah

    Hi,
You need to go to customizer > general > performance and turn off “Enable Scroll To ID”.

That function moves the user to the input without reloading the page. This works fine with core comments but jetpack doesn’t support that. With that setting off jetpacks comments will work.

    Thank you for answer.
I will test more in depth later.
But first try doesn’t seem to solve issue…perhaps linked to caching.
The comment is added but as a new comment not like a reply to an existing comment.

By the way the option is off in PRD at the moment, i will have a look tomorrow.

    Hello,
The “enabler scroll to ID” disabled doesn’t seem to solve issue.
When replying to a comment the post is set as a new comment.

I can’t recreate an issue with “enabler scroll to ID” disabled.

Have you tried deactivating other plugins to test.
