My WordPress website is located within a folder. In this case, the WordPress Address (URL) is https://thebeaglealliance.org/tba/ and the Site Address (URL) is https://thebeaglealliance.org. Everything is correct and working fine, except that I am having trouble connecting Jetpack.

I attempted to have install Jetpack from my WordPress.com account where I put in the URL https://thebeaglealliance.org/tba/ and was told to install manually. I tried a second time by putting in the https://thebeaglealliance.org/ only and received the same error message. I have cleared the cache between attempts in case that was the issue.

I then manually installed JetPack onto my site, no problem. Now I’m trying to connect to my wordpress.com account and I get this error – (!) An error occurred. Please try again.

I hope someone can give me some help with this.

    Thank you

  • Hi @nichlee

I can see that you have attempted to install Jetpack and finally were able to do so, but that you currently have an issue getting the connection to work.

I’ve looked closely, and found that your XML-RPC endpoint doesn’t work, as it’s showing a 403 Forbidden error. I’d suggest reaching out to your hosting provider and requesting that they make that endpoint available, just as you can see in this example.

You can then attempt to connect Jetpack to your WordPress.com account and follow the entire connection process.

Let us know how this goes.

    Hey @nichlee,

Do you have updates about that? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
