• Hi
On Friday morning I received an email to say please update Jetpack because of a security warning. However when I logged in to update it, Jetpack was not there. I tried to reinstall it as a plugin but it came up with the following error:
Installing Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com 2.9.3
    Downloading install package from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/jetpack.2.9.3.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Destination folder already exists. /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/vi/si/tf/visitfromthestork.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/

    Plugin install failed.

I then went to my FTP files and deleted the folder to make sure it DIDN’T exist, and tried again. Still the same error message. I then phoned my web hosts (123 reg) and they did exactly the same thing – deleted the folder and then I tried to reinstall it. The adviser said it had created a folder when I pressed install, but I am still getting an error. I have looked on the support forum and all it suggests is the same thing I have already done. I have no stats and no facebook or twitter feed for my site at the minute. My website is https://www.visitfromthestork.co.uk
I have seen one thread that says install it manually but I have no idea how to do anything with code!

Can anyone help? Would really like my stats back as launched my magazine on Friday!

  • Did you resolve this? I’m having the exact same issue!

Recent plugin updates have been driving me crazy!!

Jetpack disappeared and I can’t reinstall it. A message says the destination folder already exists but it doesn’t. Perhaps there’s a database link which hasn’t been cleared?
