• Dear WordPress community,

When trying to connect with Jetpack, I get the following error:

Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.

    couldn’t connect to host

    https://www.biz.nf is my hosting.

How can I resolve this problem?

    Best regards,

    Matthijs

What’s the URL of the site you can’t connect?

On the free hosting that Biz.nf offers they limit the ability to connect to outside services like Askismet and Jetpack.

    Ah, that makes sense.

We typically don’t recommend free hosting providers around here, as they often offer crippled servers that prevent WordPress from functioning properly.

There is a recommended hosting provider (more on the way soon), and if you really want a free blog, try WordPress.com instead.
