Hi, I’m trying to get the plugin to work with all its functionalities, but it makes me install Jetpack. No problem, I did it and it crashed my site.

So I deactivated the plugin from FTP and was testing old versions. I was finally able to get version 8.8.2 working. WooCommerce shows me how many visitors I have daily, but my cart plugin (Side Cart WooCommerce) stopped working correctly.

I had to disable Jetpack to get the site back to normal, but I don’t have the WooCommerce stats.

Also, I think it causes problems with other plugins that depend on WooCommerce, like Meta Pixel, etc., which also do not capture all the information.

Randomly, the cart plugin had problems again a few days later, which confuses me. I don’t know if Jetpack modifies any files permanently, it is currently disabled.

Any guide to get it working correctly?
    My worpress version is 6.2.1
    WooCommerce 8.2.2
    Side Cart WooCommerce 2.4.7
    Php 8.1.26

    Any help is appreciated. Greetings.

    Hello @unapragmatica,

If I understand you correctly, you recently installed Jetpack but had to disable it as it caused errors in your site. A few days after disabling the Jetpack plugin, your cart plugin started facing issues and not functioning properly. Is that correct?

In that case, I would suggest performing a plugin conflict test as highlighted in our guide.

Also, could you please try updating your WordPress version to the latest version to see if this issue persists?

If the issue persists, please share with us any Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.

    Greetings.

Regarding the WordPress version, I had to downgrade because the latest version has a problem with the product description block.

For now it is the solution I found, so I ask you if you can tell me which version does not present problems with my WordPress, and which version of Jetpack would correspond.

    Thanks!

From what I understand the current issue is that Side Cart WooCommerce 2.4.7 is not working correctly with Woo 8.4, right?

If this is correct, please reach out to their support forum so they can assist you further with this.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi @carolm29. Sure.

The original problem is that with my theme and the latest version of WordPress, WooCommerce incorrectly displays the product page: instead of displaying the “short description”, it does an “excerpt” by cropping and removing formatting from the text.

From what I understand, it’s because Riverbank (my theme) has the Guthemberg block system built in, and for some reason with the latest version of WP it takes the short description and the excerpt as the same block.

The only solution I found is by downgrading WP to version 6.2.1.

This causes compatibility problems with the latest versions of the plugins. Although, if it were possible to solve the root problem, it would be much better.

    My WooCommerce system report here.
I don’t see any fatal error logs in the logs section.

The Side Cart issues were resolved via a snippet the developers gave me.

    Thank you.

    That’s great to hear! ??

So, as I understand, the issue only happens if you have Riverbank active, correct? If you have a default theme such as Storefront, for example, the product description is shown correctly?

If that’s the case, I recommend reaching out to Riverbank’s support so they can assist you with this conflict.

It is best to talk to them to resolve this so you can update your WP and Woo version to the latest one, as keeping older versions can cause issues and conflicts with other plugins.

If the issue persists even when using Storefront, please let us know so we can assist you further.

    Have a wonderful day!
