Jetpack Protect
-
It looks like the SimpleModal Login plugin is no longer compatible with Jetpack Protect… When a form submission should trigger the simple math form that Jetpack Protect throws up to dissuade bots, it simply displays an “Internal Server Error” message, instead of bringing in the user validation form. A few weeks ago this was functional. You can see the Jetpack form in the response to the form submission in the console.
So to recap:
- Have Jetpack Protect activated (don’t have your IP whitelisted)
- Have SimpleModal login activated
- Forget you know your password, about 10-12 times
- Observe the javascript console and the login form failing
Once Protect is active, a user won’t be able to login without submitting that form…
Help?
Aside
I’m also kind of disappointed to see there’s no use of WP Nonce? Seems like security should be higher on the list of features for this plugin considering it’s all Ajax..
