    Jetpack Mechanic ??

That’s interesting. We don’t have control over what’s used to generate post previews, even when the post is published by Publicize. Like for regular shared links, Facebook’s bot goes and fetch data from the Open Graph Meta Tags on your site.

However, that doesn’t seem to work that way on your site.

Could you let me know what other plugins are currently active on your site? Could you also walk me through the steps you usually follow to publish posts, so I can try to reproduce the issue?

    Thanks!

I’ve got a bunch of plugins on my website so I’ll list only those in common on my websites.

I use All-in-One SEO. It’s the plugin that generates Open Graph Data (and SEO).

WP Super Cache / WP-Optimize / WP No Category Base / WordPress Popular Posts / WordPress Database Backup / Share Buttons by AddThis / Add featured image to RSS feed / Akismet / Disqus Comment System / Google Analytics (Kevin Sylvestre) / Google XML Sitemaps (Arne Brachhold)

Notice, I manage 4 websites and I’ve got this issue on all of them.

Would you be willing to turn off All In One SEO’s Social Meta module for a bit, and see if it changes anything?

That’s pretty weird to ask that because it’s All-In-One SEO Social module that write Open Graph datas.

Plus, I tried with Yoast, I had the same problem.

I tested and publicize didn’t work.

The post wasn’t published on Facebook, Twitter and G+.

If you deactivate the AIOSEO meta module, Jetpack takes over and inserts Open Graph Meta Tags for you.

Could you let me know what post did you test this with? I checked our logs for your 2 last posts, and they were both publicized. The titles still weren’t correct though.

Could you let me know the settings you’ve used in your ALL In One SEO general settings, so I can run some tests on my end?

Indeed, the post was published later. No image on Facebook.

I didn’t change the default settings.

    Default settings

Indeed, we can overwrite them directly on each post.

I do that for a single reason: the structure of each open graph title depends on the category of the post.

Could you give me an example of what you entered in the “Social Settings” section of the post editor for one of your last posts, so I can try to reproduce? Did you enter the category name manually, or did you use a specific parameter from AIOSEO?

That’s what I usually type it, no automation. The form may differ.

Thanks! I was able to reproduce the issue, and I wonder if the problem could be linked to the | you use as separator between the post title and the category.

In my tests, custom content appearing after a | separator was always removed. If, on the other hand, I added the custom content without the | separator, it was displayed. Could you confirm that this is the case for you as well?

    Thanks!

Every week we publish here a post that the custom title has no separator. I’v got the same problem: https://www.facebook.com/themightyblog/posts/530558380486412

On this website, the custom title never has separator. Actually, it never takes the custom title for Facebook.

I test it like you said; Too be sure. But, it doesn’t work.

I’m afraid I can’t reproduce the issue reliably on my end. Could you contact us via this contact form, and include a link to this thread? I’d like to run more tests with you on your site, to get to the bottom of this.

    Thanks!
