Jetpack publicize grabs wrong image

  • Hi there,
    Whenever I post with Jetpack publicize, it doesn’t grab the feature image defined in the post itself. I say its the publicize feature, because I notice the wrong image on the facebook page and google+ page I connected.
    It keeps posting the same image from a sub page on my site, its an image not even on my home page.
    When you navigate to the blog post, the correct image is displayed.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    When you share a post on Facebook, or when Jetpack Publicize publishes a post to your Facebook page, Facebook crawls the page and looks for Open Graph meta tags in the head to build a complete post preview (with an image, title, description, …).

    Jetpack automatically creates these Open Graph Meta tags for you, unless you already use another plugin to do so.

    You can see what Facebook sees by entering one of your posts’ URLs in Facebook Debugger:

    Could you enter a few of your posts’ URLs in the debugger, and let me know if you see errors?

    I have the same issue when I publicize a post to Facebook … it’s like Russian Roulette … sometimes it uses the Featured Image I have designated … sometimes it does not … when I run the URL for the posts in question on the FB Debugger … it shows the correct Featured Image … with no errors …

    Conversely, if I manually share the post to my FB page, or if I use the jetpack FB share link in the post itself … it always uses the proper image.
