Hi guys, I know Jetpack support isn’t available for a few more days but hopefully someone from the community can help shed some light on this strange behavior I’ve been experiencing with the software.

Under sharing, I have multiple accounts added for Google+ which include one personal and multiple pages. This used to all work and new WP posts would be sent to Google+ as wall posts. Now however, this can only be achieved on personal profile account and not company pages.

You can still add the accounts and it still goes through the same authentication process as before. It also successfully adds the pages onto the list but the posts do not get posted to the business pages.

If you look through the pages however, you can see these same auto posts used to work just fine but at one point they simply stopped appearing.

Any ideas what can be causing this? I’ve checked privacy settings, security settings, and several other areas to no avail. I’ve disconnected and reconnected the accounts through WP as well as the settings which can be found at https://plus.google.com/apps and none of this has helped.

Any helps would be greatly appreciated as I’ve literally done the same thing over and over again and still no result. The only thing I’ve been able to achieve is to have WP share onto my personal Google+ page which still goes under the company but is not a company page.

    Thank you,

    Vitaliy

  • Hi, yes, I’m having the same problem.

I too am experiencing this – I emailed Jetpack about it.

My posts will go to the Google+ page just fine – but are ONLY shared “privately” – I can’t AT ALL find where the settings are (in Jetpack or Google+) to make them public.

Honestly – what good is a post on a public business page if no one can see it? I fear this is a Google+ issue vs Jetpack – in which case it will never get sorted out ??

Same issue, just wasted 30+ minutes of my life looking for a way to set WordPress shares to G+ through Jetpack to default public. As JBCO says, what good is a post on a public business page if no one can see it?

No wonder G+ is getting pummeled by Facebook in the social space… because it sucks and isn’t in the least bit user friendly.

Guess I won’t bother sharing to G+ until this gets sorted out… if it ever does.

See the below link for instructions on how to post Google+ publicly.

@kieronlittlefishfx – this was actually the first item I looked at – there are NO OPTIONS at all to change privacy settings – so this does NOT work at all.

    NO OPTIONS

Well this is exactly what I followed and it worked for me. Maybe, just maybe, you done something wrong?

Also, drop the attitude. I’m here to help you.

@kieronlittlefishfx – no attitude – sorry. Just frustrated that this is not working and there seems to be no answer to things. I’ve definitely tried finding those settings about 10 times now (literally).

I run multiple Google+ pages and have tried multiple times from all the different Publicize installs I have on a few different sights. I honestly think it’s a complete change that Google made (most likely recently).

Still waiting on a response from JetPack too.
    Thanks

No problem, I completely understand (My publicize has been broken for 3 weeks – no answer from Jetpack…).

Have you tried going to this link:
    https://plus.google.com/u/0/pages/settings/plus

Then CTRL+F and search for “Switch to classic” then click the “Switch to Classic G+” link.
Once the classic G+ theme is returned, CTRL+F again and search for “Manage apps & +1’s on posts”.

Then just follow the last bullet point in the link I gave you earlier and the information below it.

I must warn you, G+ seems to be pretty unstable for me right now, I just had elements appearing below parts of the page, links doing nothing but refreshing the page when they’re meant to be redirecting me.

But overall, you are completely right. What is Jetpack actually doing? A commercial company and they just abandon their user base like this with no information whatsoever. And on top of that we’re battling the painful Google+.

I wish you the best of luck.

    @kieronlittlefishfx – Yes – I’ve also done that about 15 times ??

No luck at all there either. If I’m LUCKY – I get to the apps page (most of the time it would just refresh and recycle the page back to settings – AKA – do nothing).

On the APPS page, there are also NO options, links, buttons or any way to edit, change or alter ANY of the connected services/apps.

Yea big fail here on JetPack’s part – even if it’s not their error (it does honestly seem like Google here) – they should still reply and communicate.

    Thanks

    please unsubsrcibe me

    Hi guys, same problem here…

On the jetpack support shows how to do it but this is all as google has change, there is no edit button and the only option available is to remove wordpress app, however even doing this and starting from scratch all the installation would not work….

    Help PLEASE!! ??

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Thank you all for the reports. That’s indeed a known issue; Google+ recently changed their interface, and removed some of the options allowing you to change the privacy of your posts. We got in touch with them, and I’ll post again here as soon as they fix the issue.

@jeremy Herve , does it start working again?
    please fixed it.

I’m having this problem as well. I hope it’s able to be resolved quickly.

@jamil44 I will post again here as soon as Google+ is able to fix the issue.
