  • This has been incredibly frustrating – many thanks to you, Jeremy. And to Paul Goodchild at https://worpdrive.com for helping me find this thread.

I have the same issue but for Facebook and it’s driving me to drink (joking).

Old url is blog.pcserenity.com. New one is slashcomment.com

    I tried disconnecting and reconnecting.

I did transfer the DB from old to new but also manually checked the DB for any mention of the old URL and changed it. Still no luck.

Have tried disconnecting and reconnecting Jetpack as suggested (which unfortunately means I have lost my statistics over the last couple of months), but the shortened URL’s are still incorrect. They still do not go to the right address. Could you please look into this? The address of the site is https://www.myfilmviews.com

By the way, I have this on Twitter, Facebook and the email subscriptions

I suspect Jeremy will have you right as rain soon enough.

@nostra Your Jetpack settings were set to use a different site URL (69.89.31.131/~myfilmvi/blog/) until yesterday, and when you disconnected and reconnected to WordPress.com, a new blog ID was created for your new URL.

I have now fixed the problem, and you will get your Stats back by going to the jetpack menu, and disconnecting and reconnecting to WordPress.com once again.
Your shortlinks will also start working properly once you’ve done so.

Thanks Jeremy, the statistics are back and working, will check the shortlinks when I put up a new post.

    Hello Jeremy,
I’m not having the same issue but it’s related. The shortened URL is ok but it says there’s multimedia content and shows an empty preview box with a link to main wordpress.com
In the help on how to connect to twitter the image shows a preview of the post, so I guess there’s something wrong.
The article is only text by the way.
Is there something I can do to fix it?

    The site https://www.todoproblemas.com/blog/
    The twitter account https://twitter.com/todo_problemas

Tell me if you want me to start a new thread with this.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

I am having the same issue and have tried to contact Jetpack support AND began my own support thread multiple times however; I have yet to receive any assistance over the past two weeks.

My page is linking Tubmlr and Facebook to the temporary url that was used when I first set up my site, over a month ago. The subscriptions widget is also linking the wrong url to emails when someone tries to sign up to my blog https://hiphopflu.com.

Everything is up-to-date in settings/general and I have tried unplugging then re-plugging Jetpack yet, the problem still persists.

    Please help.

@painfield Could you start a new thread about your issue?

    @j.Renee I replied here.

I have the (apparently cached) twitter url problem with my https://eatplaymove.com/ –I didn’t know, but a past freelance client just told me my site’s posts were showing up on their (bem wireless) twitter account. I recently migrated from wordpress.com & installed jetpack, & never would have known b/c my posts ARE going to the current correct feed for me (@ToDo4Today) also. I did just follow the “save settings” advice but I can’t figure out anything else of what you said, I’m not skilled with this stuff. I’m nervous about posting to twitter now, as I’d like that client not to have to keep removing my blog posts from their business twitter–can you check/fix for me?

Everytime Jetpack posts automatically to my Twitter it uses a shortened url – nice! If you follow the link, it’s not the “goodtunes.de/category/postxxy”-Link, instead Jetpack uses the url where the whole wordpressfile is placed.

Any idea how to get rid of this problem? Because it’s annoying if someone reposts the link and it doesn’t say “goodtunes.de/” ..

@eatplaymove It seems Richard already replied to you here.

@one_gt Could you please start your own thread, as per the Forum Welcome?

@groftzoo I see you have now reset your Jetpack settings, thus creating a new Blog ID, and a new set of stats (your site was previously using a different site URL, groftzoo.com/cj/ )

I have fixed the issue, and you should be able to get your Stats and Subscribers back by going to the Jetpack menu in your dashboard, and disconnecting / reconnecting to WordPress.com.
