    Hi All,
For a couple of weeks, JetPack’s sending me hundreds of emails saying my site’s down, then back up again.

    “Error reference: 142945637/intermittent”

I contacted my hosting provider and they can see nothing wrong, and neither can I.

I updated WordPress and JetPack but there’s no stopping the emails. WordPress is recommending I update my PHP. Would that fix it?

    Thanks all,
    John

  • I am also getting the same error regarding my site. I am afraid my site is getting offline and it will loose ranking this way.

    I am getting this error:

Your site appears to be down

your site did not load when Jetpack Monitor last checked on it

Your site is responding intermittently, or extremely slowly. This can indicate an overloaded, under-powered, or misconfigured server. Your site is probably loading for some users, but not for everyone.

@lastsplash please see if you can help me with this error reference code

@johnnyivan Jetpack Monitor checks your site every five minutes to see if it’s accessible. The site currently appears to be accessible online.

If your site is slow to load or temporarily inaccessible, it could trigger a notice that your site is down. Jetpack does not track why the site is slow to load or inaccessible. It only lets you know that it cannot reach the site. You can learn more about that here:?https://jetpack.com/support/monitor/

Right now, Jetpack is having trouble connecting to your site. It seems the site’s XML-RPC file is taking quite some time to load, which is likely also causing those Downtime Monitoring email notifications.

I’d suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to check their security logs for any blocked requests to the xmlrpc.php file on your site, using the Jetpack by WordPress.com user agent.

You can also ask them to allow our IP addresses listed here: https://jetpack.com/support/how-to-add-jetpack-ips-allowlist/

Please note that these IP addresses could change (or more could be added) at any time, which could break your connection to Jetpack. For this reason, we actually discourage whitelisting specific IPs, although with some hosts it may be the only option.

Let us know how that goes!

@jamesjohnson99 We ask that you start your own thread, as per the Forum Welcome guidelines.

It looks like you already have, and I’ve replied to it here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/your-site-appears-to-be-down-i-am-getting-emails-from-jetpack/

    Thank you!
