When I use the subscribe widget and test it, it sends the confirmation email… I confirm… it lists the site in a page on WordPress.com but if I hit the link it tries to take me to my installation sub-directory and serves up a 404 Ooops, not found error.

I have the site on 2 domains at the moment as I’m not yet decided which will be the main one, the issue appears on both.

Having tried “self-help” it looked like the thing to do would be disconnect JP and then reconnect – I’ve tried this to no avail.

I’m guessing that whatever is wrong may cause issues with other JP features I’ve not used yet, so I’d like to iron this one out before proceeding further.

    TIA for any help.

That domain doesn’t seem to be available to me:
    https://i.wpne.ws/dnJG

    https://www.2sided.limited

Everything seems to be set up properly for that site. I was able to subscribe using the form in the sidebar of your posts, and you can now see my email address in your subscriber list.

Here is how the first email looked like:
    https://i.wpne.ws/dmuH

In the second email, however, I indeed got the wrong site URL:
    https://i.wpne.ws/dnIj

That’s a bug within Jetpack. We’ll get this fixed, thanks for the report! In the meantime, you can rest assured; your subscribers were still properly registered.

I’ll post again here as soon as this is fixed.

    Hi Jeremy,

Sorry, I have no idea why my fingers typed .com – the other site is https://www.2sided.co.uk

The issue is the same there and if it helps you can see it there also. I hadn’t noticed the discrepancy between the links in the 2 emails, where I noticed the problem was on the subscriptions page on WordPress.com, where the text in the link is just 2 Sided Limited, but the link leads to the subdirectory and hence throws out a 404 error. I’ve screen captured the sequence for you, which is actually also the real-time sequence as clicking the confirm in the first email takes me to the subscription page.

    First email: https://screencast.com/t/Le56bELC

    Subscriptions page: https://screencast.com/t/kSkscbnbYjz3

    404 from subscriptions page: https://screencast.com/t/gBUxIk1UttRj

    Second email: https://screencast.com/t/uAEmTDzWqkrr

Anyway, glad to hear it’s a bug and not me, hopefully it’s an easy fix for you.

    Regards,
    Andrew

Yeah, the problem is the same there. We’ll fix it there too.

    Thanks for the report!
