    I noticed today that the sharing & publicize feature appears to be broken in my Jetpack plugin. I’m not receiving any error messages in the admin but am experiencing the following problems:

    1. My post went live this morning and it’s set to publicize on twitter and facebook. It posted to twitter but the auto-generated short url does not work.
    2. It did not post to facebook at all.
    3. Looking back at previous posts in both facebook and twitter, the short urls are all broken.
    4. Under sharing, viewers can click to like the post on Facebook but they can’t share the post on Facebook. I believe this feature used to be available?

    Also, I’m not sure if this is an error or not, but my posts are scheduled to go live at 8am. Today it didn’t post until 8:23.

    It depends what kind of button you are using. You currently have the “Official” buttons active; alternatively, you can switch to the Icon, Icon + Text, or Text only buttons:

    How do you know it didn’t post until 8:23? Do you mean, there was no email subscription sent out until that time?

    RE short URL’s: They appear to be fixed now. When I checked the other day every, every short url that started with wp.me opened up to a blank page that said something like “page not found”. Checking them today they seem to be working again.

    RE Facebook: I manually posted today but I’m guessing it will work again now since the short urls are working again too.

    RE Posting Time: Yes, the email subscription wasn’t sent out until that time. When I manually post I receive the email within 1-3 minutes, so I assumed the scheduled post didn’t go live until later since the email didn’t come in until 8:23.

    Hi Jen!

    I’m glad the short URLs are working now, then. If they break again, do let me know and we’ll dig into it more.

    As for the email being sent out, usually subcriber emails are sent out near instantaneously. There can sometimes be small delays on our end though, but 23 minutes is a long time for a delay. I suspect that even though you scheduled your post for 8:00, because of the vagaries of the wp_cron function which manages scheduled posts, your post wasn’t actually published until 8:23, and the email was sent immediately. If this happens again consistently, we can look into some of the methods available to fix this, but it likely wasn’t a Jetpack problem.
