    I have been using JetPack for quite some time with short periods of disconnection for technical reasons. But whenever I connected back under the same WordPress.com account, they would come back with a few days missing.

    Yesterday, I backed up my site to a different domain with everything intact. I suspect because of that on my real site the stats appear to be reset, they do not show anything beyond yesterday. I tried the following with no luck of gaining back my stats:

    1. I disconnected from my site and reconnected
    2. I disconnected from WordPress.com and reconnected from my site

    When I login to my WordPress.com account I see my site name, subtitle, logo, but not the stats. Is there anything that can be done at your end to restore the stats back to their previous state.

    Since the site URL is different, Jetpack indeed started a new set of stats for the new site. It doesn’t really have a way to know that it’s actually the same site.

    Looking at your account, I see a few old sets of data, all linked to another domain of yours, https://www.testbed.biz. That’s most likely what caused your previous issues. I assume you use that domain as a test / staging site? If so, I would strongly recommend that you enable Jetpack’s Development mode on that site to make sure it never pollutes your production site’s Jetpack settings:

    I have now merged all instances into one, and you should be able to get your Stats and Subscribers back by going to the Jetpack menu in your dashboard, and disconnecting / reconnecting to WordPress.com.

    Thanks Jeremy. Yes, that is a staging site and JetPack suggested that I enable the Development mode. Despite my clicks on the button to make that happen, it kept coming back with a message to the effect that something went wrong and I should try again. After a few attempts that message disappeared and I presumed that it enabled the Development mode. Looking back, I realize that the proper thing to do was to disable JetPack on the staging domain to eliminate any confusion. I will do that if there is a next time.

    JetPack was disconnected on my site now, perhaps because of your merging actions. I connected it back to WordPress.com and I can now see my past stats as well, both on my site and WordPress.com.

    A similar thing happened to me. It would randomly ask something along the line of, “if I wanted to fix the connection.” Except the last time it asked, I am almost certain the buttons switched sides… or I have an awful memory, but I selected the wrong option. Is there a way to undo that? Or merge the two stats again?

    I keep hoping that the question will pop up again, but I think I started a new stat altogether.

    I had the exact same problem. I created a mirror site which I was testing before linking the domain from the old site. Jetpack asked if I wanted to go into safe mode, I clicked yes and it came up with the ‘something went wrong’ error.

    As a result it created 2 sets of stats, and now despite having shifted my domain to point to the new site, Jetpack won’t allow me to switch back to my old stats, despite the domain name now being exactly the same!

    I just love the way Jetpack helps you create a new set of stats when you don’t want them, never requested them nor was asked if you wanted them. But when you try to find some way of deleting these unwanted stats, or linking your old stats to your new server, there’s not a single option in sight.

    However, I did write Jeremy and he was able to fix the issue in a timely manner. If you haven’t dropped him a line, I’d give that a shot.

    One thing that I recommend, based on my experience with the solution, is not to combine the two sites’ stats. When they are separated, I lost all my previous data prior to January 1, 2017. A cleaner solution to this may be called for in the core of JetPack code. When it fails to go into the safe mode, it should not connect the second replica site. That is a failsafe option.
