I have Jetpack installed on two sites, one of which (linked) I’ve been using for like 7 years. Starting about 24 hours ago, Jetpack has stopped logging traffic.

    What could be causing this?

    Hello, there.

I took a look at your site, and it seems fine – Jetpack’s connection is solid and I see that our stats feature is active.

In other words, I’m not sure what would have caused this, right away.

By any chance, did you add or update any plugins or themes around the time in which this started? It’s possible that something is blocking or altering the way that stats are being recorded.

I don’t seem to have any updates that were applied right when the problem started, no.

I tried deactivating a plugin to see if I could log stats again, but it created an error. I don’t seem to have a way of deactivating plugins to see what might have broken it.

The stats tracking code seems to be missing from your site’s footer.

There may be something else installed on the site that’s causing problems. The quickest way to figure out if something is interfering is to test for a theme or plugin conflict.

Could you please try the following:

    – Temporarily deactivate all the site’s plugins except for Jetpack and clear your browser’s cache.
    – Then check the source code of the site (right-click anywhere on the homepage and then click ‘View Page Source’). Near the bottom of the page, you should see some code starting with <script src='//stats.wp.com/. If you see it there, then stats is working, and we’ll know that another plugin is conflicting here. You can re-enable your plugins one by one, checking for that code in between, until you find the one causing the conflict. You can then leave it disabled or reach out to the plugin developer for a fix.

If disabling plugins doesn’t help, it may be the theme.

    – Temporarily switch your theme to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty. Then check for that code again. If you see it there, then you know it’s a problem with the theme, and you can reach out to the theme developer for a fix.

Let us know how that goes. If you have trouble deactivating plugins, please let us know what error you’re seeing.

    Thanks!
