It must’ve been working at some stage because I have 147 subscribers but someone told me they tried to subscribe and did not receive a confirmation email, so I tested it myself and did not receive a confirmation email. Something’s gone wrong. What do you recommend?

    Hi there,

First, for information on things you can troubleshoot, please visit our support page:

    https://jetpack.com/support/subscriptions/#additional-troubleshooting

If I had their emails, I could check to see if there were pending subscriptions. You can could reach out to us at https://wordpress.com/help/contact and provide that information for us to look further.

Otherwise, you can direct them to https://subscribe.wordpress.com to manually confirm their subscription. They can enter their email address there and we’ll send a secure link to their email from “[email protected]” that they can click and manually confirm their subscription under the “Pending” tab.

If you have a gmail address, WordPress.com emails are known to end up in your social tab if you have that enabled. I would also check your spam folder to see if the email ended up there. Either way, if you search for your domain in the general inbox search field, you should be to find the email we sent to you regardless of the folder or tab that it is in.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

Thanks for that, all fixed. but I’m confused – it says I have 152 subscribers but when I go to Email Followers there are only nine.

    Hi there,

The widget shows a total number of followers from various sources.

Email Followers only list people who subscribed to your site via email only, by typing their emails into the widget. Of those you have nine.

Then you have followers who followed your site using their WordPress.com username accounts, either via that widget using an email connected to an existing WordPress.com account, or directly in the WordPress.com Reader. For them your posts will appear in the WordPress.com Reader, and whether or not they receive email notifications will depend on their blog subscription settings which they control via their WordPress.com accounts.

For WordPress.com followers there’s no way for you to know who is subscribed to emails and who isn’t, and we also don’t reveal the email addresses for those subscribers to you.

    Of those you have six.

The remainder of that number is made up of followers on your connected social media accounts, at the moment 123 followers of your Facebook page, and 14 from your Twitter account.

Let me know if you have any more questions about this.
