    My Jetpack “Subscribe for new posts” widget and Sharing buttons are not working. Subscribe states an email was sent, but it is never received and does not go into spam. Tested with multiple email accounts (hotmail, yahoo mail and one other). Please note that I was able to subscribe with my gmail which is connected to my WordPress account, but no other email addresses will work.

    When attempting to Share a post via email, it says it was sent but the email is never received.

    I have performed the following troubleshooting steps:
    – Deactivated plug ins and retested
    – Tried a different theme and retested
    – Verified my site’s XMLRPC file is okay
    – Deactivated/reactivated Jetpack (and reconnected it to my wordpress account) and retested
    – Viewed debug results – all said either PASS or OK
    – Left Google captcha deactivated since Jetpack Known Issues states it is not compatible with Jetpack Comments module (even though as far as I know I don’t have an issue with comments).
    – I also deactivated Jetpack and tried the Email Subscribers & Newsletters Plug in (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/email-subscribers/) and it still did not work.

    I reactivated a “Coming Soon” widget as I don’t want my site live yet, but I can deactivate it if needed for troubleshooting purposes.

    I then tried going to https://jetpack.com/support/debug/ and received “AN unknown error has occurred”.

    Perhaps there is something in my theme or within wordpress itself that is conflicting? Any help would be very appreciated!!

  • Did you make any post after subscribe to jetpack email

    i think they only send email when a new post is published

    nobody can help you until you remove that coming soon plugin or whatever

    I tested it on debug too got this error Everything looks great ????????

    @aunpric – correct, an email will normally go out to advise of a new post, but it’s not getting to that point – the subscription confirmation email is never received; thus, users would not get the notification email of a new post as they are unable to confirm their subscription.

    I can disable the coming soon plug in (and did so while troubleshooting), but was hoping there was something else I can investigate first that I may have overlooked.

    As @aunpric stated, if you can temporarily disable your maintenance mode plugin, we will be glad to test this issue for you.

    Once that is done, let us know, and we will continue to assist you with this.

    Thank you, I have removed the coming soon plug in and officially launched my site, and realize now that the issue appears to be with certain email addresses. For example, gmail.com accounts can subscribe, but aol.com, hotmail.com and yahoo.com email accounts cannot. Anyone with those accounts never receives the subscription email at all.

    I went back to https://jetpack.com/support/debug/ and this time it states all tests have passed. I wish it was something as simple as a spam filtering issue but subscribers have checked that. It seems like for users of these email addresses, the subscribe confirmation email just gets lost en route somehow, which makes no sense to me.

    I also am still unable to Share a post via email – just like with subscribe, it says it was sent but the email is never received.

    Update: It appears subscriptions are working now! I still need to test sharing buttons but I believe those will function now as well.

    We’re glad to hear that everything is working again, and you’re very welcome for the support!

    What exactly was the fix for this? I’m having the same issue. During the first few days of having the Jetpack subscribe widget active, everything was working properly. However, no new subscribers are getting verification emails (spam has been checked as well). Those who were already subscribed before this issue started are still getting the emails about new posts, but no new subscribers are receiving confirmation emails.

    It’s been a while now but it was related to the wordpress.com subscription management – if I remember correctly I think it got “stuck” there and some users had to confirm their subscriptions there first and then started to get the emails.
