I have used Jetpack subscribe for years. It stopped working.
Right now I placed it in the bottom of the sidebar for testing.
If you enter your email and hit ‘subscribe’ nothing happens. I tested this on multiple sites and without other plugins being used.
I tried this in multiple browsers after I cleared my cache.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

I tested this on multiple sites

Do you mean on other sites you own, or on other people’s sites? Does it work on the other sites, or does it fail there as well?

I tested this on my own Jetpack site, and there the subscription went through with out problems, so I don’t think it’s the widget itself that’s at fault.

If I keep the browser console open while trying to submit the form on your site I see a JSON error, referencing AMP, so please see if it works if you disable the AMP plugin on your site.

    Thank you for your reply.
When I say multiple sites, I referred to a few sites I own. However, they basically all have the same configuration in terms of plugins.

The issue does seem to be AMP related. I thought I tested it before with AMP disabled. It works when AMP is disabled.

    Thanks for confirming that.

What’s interesting is that I also have AMP active on my site, and I’m not seeing any issues there, so there is likely another factor at play.

Are there any other plugins that you use on all your sites? If you’re willing to do some more testing on this, try reactivating AMP, and then disabling any other common plugins you have to see if it works with that setup. If it does, this might point to a conflict between AMP and the other plugin.

FWIW, the Subscriptions widget should be fully AMP compatible since Jetpack 7.0, see https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/11159.

Possibly a new conflict from an AMP update, but the link you provided seems current. I found a conflict with the Twenty-Nineteen theme that was not there before, hence they released and Alpha that corrects it.

I deactivated all my plugins except, Akismet and Jetpack.
I test Gutenberg and that made no difference.
I test it on an out of the box, Twenty-seventeen and Twenty Nineteen theme.
https://polishgrammar.com is another example of a site of mine it does not work on.

It might be a setting or an update.
With AMP, I tested with both Version 1.0.2 and Version 1.1-alpha-20190226T001832Z-bc77bcb5

Would you mind letting us know how you have AMP configured, the specific settings?

    (@mbiernat)

    Template Mode = Native
Validation Handling = Disable admin bar on AMP pages
Supported templates = Serve all templates as AMP regardless of what is being queried

I choose these as they seem to be the way AMP is going, certainly at this point native template mode makes the most sense.

Any questions I am more than willing to help as I see great benefit from AMP

Hm, yes it does seem to be an issue specifically related to the Native template mode, as it working just fine in Paired and Classic.

I have filed a bug report, and you are welcome to follow along at https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/11595

It sounds like the work-around at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/amp-jetpack-subscribe-button-stopped-working/ fixed it. If so, the upcoming change to Jetpack should take care of this: https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/11637

I tested on three sites with different configurations and setups and it worked, so I think this is resolved.

    Thanks great to hear!

Thanks for finding the fix Weston, and thanks for testing this mbiernat!
