  • It is my experience too that most of the subscribers to my blog are rubbish hotmail adresses… There have been quite some activity in the last two days (25 subscriptions). Will it continue like this ??

Jetpack Subscriptions require your subscribers to confirm their subscription by clicking on a link in a confirmation email that is sent to them when submitting their email address.

If your list of Jetpack subscribers includes Spam email addresses, could you post your site URL here so I can have a look?

If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

My site is located at https://www.newbreedgaming.com We are also receiving a large amount of spam from hotmail accounts and also @mailnesia.com accounts which is a public email adress that automatically confirms account registrations, i feel that that domain should be completely blocked as it is literally a tool for spammers but the best way to go would be allow us to use a good captcha easily rather than having to go into the code and potentially break the plugin itself.

Thank you very much for replying, it shows a great commitment to your users!

@newbreedsaka Thanks. We’re looking at the issue now. I’ll post again here as soon as I have some news.

@gillesenvrac We’re still looking at the problem.
I can see how frustrating it can be, since you cannot get a real estimation of how many people follow your blog, but you can rest assured: this doesn’t affect your blog in any way, and the jetpack Subscriptions module will continue to work just fine, even if you’ve got thousands of subscribers.

My site has recently been hit via the Jetpack Blog Subscription widget by hundreds of …@hotmail spammers – they are all now registered in our User database as Subscribers.

You can see them here (screenshot of Users): https://www.henleyherald.com/?p=9760

Is there a way to add a CAPTCHA to the widget?

How can I stop them registering?
