If you have the JetPack “Subscriptions” module enabled, allowing users to receive an e-mail when you create a new post, an e-mail gets sent out as soon as you hit Duplicate.

This caused me to accidentally sent an e-mail out to my subscriber base before I had the chance to modify the post…. so they received notification of a post called “Copy of ….”

I would suggest that the plugin creates the new post as a Draft, allowing it to be modified before things happen like 1) resetting caches, and 2) triggering e-mails.

You can already do this. Go to Tools > Post Duplicator and adjust your settings.

Thanks! I’d been looking for this under Settings, not Tools ??

I would suggest that Draft be made the default setting though. I suspect many people will only discover this after accidentally publishing the duplicate post before it’s ready.

Ok, that’s a good idea. I will make that adjustment in the next update.
