    Hi,

I’m using jetpack here https://mologic.co.uk/about-us/the-team/ and you can see the team gallery is displaying the first image on its own row with a lot of padding around it. This is wrong.

After some pondering, plugin updating and investigating the code I couldn’t see why this was happening. It wasn’t until I looked at the number of images that are present and saw that there would be one left on a line on its own.

I removed one image & boom it was fixed, but that doesn’t really help as we need another team member in there all the time.

So my questions are, why does the plugin put the first image on its own instead of the logical last one? How do you change it?

    Thanks

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Something seems to be wrong with your site setup at the moment. Your theme or another plugin appears to be force-deactivating the Photon module, thus stopping the resizing that we do with Tiled Galleries to make them look good.

Could you try to deactivate all other plugins, one at a time, and let me know if you find the conflict?
If that doesn’t help, could you try switching to one of the default themes for a few minutes, to make sure the problem is not linked to your theme?

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi

I’ve done what you said, but I can’t find what is causing the issue. You say that ‘something’ is force-deactivating Photon. Is there a way we can force-reactivating it?

    Thanks

As long as another plugin or your theme force deactivates Photon, you won’t be able to force activate it, as it will be deactivated as soon as soon as you activate it.

I noticed that your site uses relative URL paths. Is that managed by your theme? Could you try to deactivate this, and let me know if it helps?

Hi Yes this is managed by the theme (Roots theme 2013ish I think)

I have deactivated this, but it makes no difference to the display.

Sorry to hear that didn’t help.

I can’t figure out what’s causing the problem right now. Something seems to be overwriting the image URLs in that gallery to stop them from using Photon, but I’m not sure what.

Could you try to create a new gallery, including only newly uploaded images, and send me a link to the gallery?

    Thanks!

Sorry, I’ve not been in the office for a while. But I’m back now. As you can see.

I’ve done another page here https://mologic.co.uk/demo/ and it still seems to be happening.

I was able to duplicate this on my site as well and opened up a bug report at https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/2660

I wasn’t immediately able to determine what was causing it, but following that bug report will let you know our progress.

Marking this as resolved so we can defer to the GitHub issue.

    Cheers!
