jetpack tiled gallery – image size and captions

  • I’ve created a tiled gallery using Jetpack, and it mostly works just fine: https://mf-fellows-dev.mit.edu/current-fellows/. I have two questions:

    1. I want the pictures to show up in 3 columns until the bottom row, which should just show 2 pictures. But I don’t want the last 2 to enlarge to reach the page width. I want them to be exactly the same size as the other pictures. Is there a way to do this?

    2. The captions are displaying on hover, but is there a way to have them actually display on the page instead?

    Hi there, I see you now have things showing 2 images in the first row and then 3 in all subsequent rows. Is this acceptable to you the way you have it now?

    2. The captions are displaying on hover, but is there a way to have them actually display on the page instead?

    Are you talking about on the page after you click on one of the images, or are you talking about having the captions show all the time on the current follows page?

    I don’t think there’s a way with Jetpack tiled galleries to force this, but the best place to ask this is in the Jetpack forum:

    This is also a Jetpack-specific question. I searched their forums and found this previous Q&A:

    Is there any way to always show the caption instead only on hover?

    We do not offer this option in Jetpack, and the hover effect is triggered via Javascript, so you’ll have to add your own javascript code to remove the effect I’m afraid.
