Jetpack tiled galllery/carousel not working

    Hey there,

    I’m using a Hemingway Child Theme and the Jetpack plugin. For some reason, the tiled gallery only shows in the preview mode but not on the actual website and the carousel doesn’t work at all. It only shows the image descriptions below the image:

    I tried to deactivate one plugin after another to test it, but it didn’t change a anything. Is it possible that the plugin it interfering with some custom gallery functionalities of the theme?

    The Jetpack support forum reads as follows:
    “Please verify if your theme has some custom gallery functionalities. The Carousel will deactivate if it detects that the theme in use is overwriting the gallery shortcode, so as to not conflict with the theme.”

    Any thoughts on that?
    The only way to get a gallery (at all) working is the default setting.

  • Deactivate all the plugins except jetpack and clear cache before deactivating the cache plugin, there is a jQuery error. This is the reason carousel and tiled gallery isn’t loading. Let me know when you have deactivated the plugins so that I can check.

    Apparently, the W3 Total Cache Plugin was interfering with the tiled gallery/carousel function of the plugin. By deactivating the cache plugin I was able to solve the problems. Everything works fine now. Just gonna have to look for an alternative cache plugin now.

    Awesome! you can use w3 total cache, just don’t combine javascript files. That was creating the problems. I hope that helps.
