Jetpack tiled mosaic not linking to correct image in carousel

I’m using jetpack v. 2.5

i have a tiled mosaic gallery on my main page (www.saycheese.tk), when you click on an image it opens the carousel but it does not display the image that you clicked on, rather it displays another image from that gallery.

this is getting very frustrating and I have no idea what could be causing this.

not sure if it matters but im currently using a slightly modified version of the polos theme. its worth noting that the same issue occurs with other themes that are not modified, for example prana.
