Jetpack update causing some photos to disappear and duplicated title

    I’ve had to disable Jetpack because photos were disappearing from recipe posts on my blog. They were being replaced with a link that said the content could not be displayed.

    The title was also being duplicated in smaller text near the top of the page.

    For some reason this was only happening on recipe pages, not on other posts.

    When I started to disable the plugins, Jetpack was revealed to be the one causing the clash.

    I’m using Elegant Themes’ Extra Theme.

    I’m sorry to hear you’ve run into issues.

    Did this happen to some specific pictures, or all of them on this post?

    If you’re willing to give Jetpack another try, could you activate the plugin, and then go to Jetpack > Settings and deactivate the Photon module?

    Thanks Jeremy – that tip worked. I re-activated Jetpack and deactivated the Photon module, and that has sorted out the problem.

    Also, it was just some specific photos that were affected, about half of them – the ones in the upper section of the page.

    Thanks for giving that a try.

    If you’re ever willing to give Photon another try, I’d recommend that you make sure that all your post images can be downloaded quickly. As explained here, if your server takes longer than 10 seconds to upload the image to Photon, the upload will time out and your image will appear to be broken. That’s most likely what happened here.
    Often, this can be solved by uploading smaller images.
