I like to learn what are the differences (or relations) between Jetpack and WP Statistics plugin.

From function point of view, are there any overlap between these 2 plugins?

Should I only use Jetpack? or I should use both to cover my needs?

    Appreciate.

    Hi @haimingli

You can actually test that part. You can install both plugins and check if there are any conflicts you are getting. If there are no conflicts (there shouldn’t any), then you can keep both plugins. It is always good to analyze two or more stats to see where your site stands in this web world.

You can learn more about our stat feature and how it works here: https://jetpack.com/support/wordpress-com-stats and here: https://wordpress.com/support/stats

    Thanks for your response.

Actually I was NOT asking if these 2 plugins can work together, or not.

(yes they can work together. that is not something i am surprise)

My intension was to ask, from function point of view, should I use both? or these 2 plugins have good overlap so using Jetpack is good enough, therefore “WP Statistics” can be deactiveted?

    Hi @haimingli

The plugin is not created by the same individuals (us) that power the Jetpack plugin. It’s created by a completely separate third-party entity. In order, to check features, I downloaded the WP Statistics plugin, and it looks like some features provided are almost the same. But I’m not sure how it’s calculating the statistics because that’s the main thing we would like to know. Right? It all depends on person-to-person preference, and you will need to pick one of them as per your preference. I’m going to recommend you Jetpack because it provides better stats for a site; the user interface is very friendly (especially if you look at the stats part in WordPress.com dashboard) so analyzing stats is also easy and has many other features included.

Again you are free to use both plugins together and check which of them works better for you. ??

Thanks Animesh for all your explanation. Tentatively I would go with Jetpack ??

I’m glad that you decided to stay with Jetpack. ??

For now, I’m marking this topic as resolved. But If you have any further questions or need some more help, you’re welcome to reply here or open another thread. ??
