• Hi Everyone,

Please help me. I have been trying to resolve this issue for two months. If it is not resolved I will MOVE MY WEBSITE SOMEWHERE ELSE. My Jetpack is not connecting because I am not connected from www.ads-software.com to wordpress.com A message pops up that says my website is not public but people can view my website so it is public. When I look at my settings on WordPress.com my www.ads-software.com blog is listed as my website so they seem connected to me. Yet, Jetpack will not connect. This has stopped me from blogging for six weeks. I need Jetpack to run and I need wordpress.com to be connected to www.ads-software.com because I link a lot of posts from a fashion social networking site called Polyvore.

I have made a thread about this already. I was told to contact my host and then the creators of Jetpack (which I did) but neither offered me a solution that worked. Maybe I am not able to articulate my issue properly because I am not very good with technology. If you need more information to help me solve my problem I would gladly give it. PLEASE HELP ME or I have no choice but to move my website to a host that I understand how to use better.

    My website: https://www.piccolamarisa.com

    Hi,

Jetpack requires access to your site’s xmlrpc.php file via specifically a https://www.piccolamarisa.com/xmlrpc.php?for=jetpack call.

While some hosts have some protection to ensure only our servers can reach your site via this way, it appears, In your case, your server is blocking access to this, so it is not accessible to us (at least as far as our computers are concerned).

Technically speaking, your server is returning a HTTP 406 error code to us according to our debugging tools.

I’m afraid that we’re unable to fix this unless your server accepts connections from WordPress.com.

    Cheers!

Ok so I just updated to the newest version of Jetpack and a new message appeared.

Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.
Operation timed out after 15001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

^Please someone tell me what to do about this! I am at my wits end.

Contact your hosts and send them a copy of that error message.

Which one is my host. Is it “Bluehost” or www.ads-software.com ?

That probably sounds like a stupid question but I am very new at this and I have no idea what the difference is.

    Howdy,

Sure thing! It is confusing at first—so many different pieces of the puzzle.

Bluehost is your hosting provider. WordPress (the software) runs on your hosting provider’s server to actually manage/display content. www.ads-software.com is the volunteer-based community that produces, supports, etc the WordPress software.

    Cheers!

Thank you! I called my hosting provider. They said that something went wrong with site lock and my dns server. I have no idea what that means but they did something over the phone and I should be able to use Jetpack and connect to wordpress.com in about two days time. Thank goodness! Thank you for your help everyone. I will keep you posted.
