Jetpack/Akismet Activation

  • I set up my account through bluehost and was then set up through WordPress. In trying to activate Jetpack, it says it needs my WordPress.com user ID. I’ve tried every combination of e-mails/usernames I can think of, and can not figure out which one they’re asking for. Also having problems getting an API key for Akismet for the same reason.

  • Do you have a WordPress.com account?

    WordPress.com is a separate service altogether, which is different from the WordPress installation offered by Bluehost. From what I can gather, you aren’t already actively using WordPress.com. It might be better off for you to sign up for a new account, and use that user ID for Jetpack and Akismet.
