Jigoshop eCommerce Issues
-
Hi,
I see that you fixed some things on our SimpleBeadPatterns.com site – thank you very much. There are still a few important things that we need help with…
1. Order confirmation emails are still not formatted and there is no download link.
2. The Available Downloads list does not show up on the My Account page, like they used to. Also, I had someone help me (maybe you) show all the downloads, rather than just a few. Customers kept contacting me saying they wanted to see absolutely everything they ever purchased in that download list, not just their recent purchases.
3. The “Purchase and Pay” button on the Checkout page is blurry.
4. Can we get rid of the “Different Shipping Address” checkbox on the Checkout page, since we don’t ask for shipping addresses?
5. I’m not able to add the mini cart to the extra header area.
6. When I type in a search for something that does not exist, the entire page goes blank – there is no message saying that it can’t be found (also the side bar disappears, as it does on any Jigoshop page). You can try searching for “frog” on our site, for example, and see what happens.
7. It looks like I am not able to add a sidebar to my product pages – I used to have the option for a Jigoshop side bar. Is there anyway to get that back?
Thank you again for all of your help!
Sincerely,
Cara

1. Done – the e-mails had the old Jigoshop syntax in them.
2. It will be available by default in the next (2.1) release
3. Not anymore ??
4. Done ??
5. Try now.
6.Done ??
7. Appearance -> Widgets – modify “Jigoshop Sidebar 1”Hi Marcin,
Again, thank you so much! A few things…
1. When I’m on any of my pages that shows products (like https://dev.simplebeadpatterns.com/all-tutorials/), except the shop page, and I try to add a product to my cart, it does not work. If I then go to the shop page, which we don’t use on our site, it automatically adds all the products to my cart that I just tried to add, listing all the notifications at the top. I can only view my cart by clicking on the yellow “View Cart” button that pops up and disappears in the notification. If I try to click on the Cart or Checkout page on my menu drop down, it takes me to blank pages – it did not use to do that.
2. About a week ago, I was able to create a photo gallery on a product page, just like I’ve always done (I need to recreate all my galleries since the migration). But, I just tried it and I’m unable to create the gallery. I usually create a gallery but don’t add it to the page. It automatically puts the thumbnails below the feature image. Right now, I can insert a gallery into the product, but it puts it at the top of the description and does not look right. Like I said, I don’t usually insert the galleries because I don’t like the way they look, but I just create the galleries and they show up nicely. Any idea why I’m not able to create a gallery so that it looks like this on I did last week: https://dev.simplebeadpatterns.com/product/cherry-blossom-float/
3. On just the “Blossom Float” product page, there is a “Description” tab and a “Files to Download” tab. The actual file is listed in that tab, available for anyone to download. Could you please remove that tab? That is also the product that I was able to add a photo gallery to last week… https://dev.simplebeadpatterns.com/product/cherry-blossom-float/
4. After you place your order, the formatting seems off on the Thank You page. The content inside the “Billing Address” and “Shipping Address” boxes are not lined up with the left sides of the boxes, and the email address is going off the right side of both boxes.
5. Is there anyway to get rid of the “Shipping Address” box on the Thank you page, since we don’t ship anything and don’t ask for a Shipping address on our other pages?
6. The test orders that I’m placing show two download links for some reason on the order confirmation emails. The first download link shows the exact path of the tutorial, which we don’t want, and the second link shows a mixture of letters and numbers, which is what we do want, so the file path is hidden.
7. In regards to the emails, they no longer have the formatting they used to (html formatting, I think?) Will we be able to have the color banner and formatted text in a future version update of Jigoshop eCommerce? I remember the orders used to look like this years ago, but then you released an update that made the emails look so much better.
8. Is there anyway to have an “Apply” button next to where you enter in a coupon code? It seems hard to know how to apply the coupon to the order, and it’s not obvious that you need to hit “Enter”.
9. I still don’t see the “Display Cart” option on the Theme Options page to display the mini cart at the top of the website.
10. When I type in a search for something that does not exist, the text result is very, very large. Also, when I search for something and it lists the results, the text is still very large.
11. When I add widgets to the Jigoshop Sidebar 1, it does not space the widgets like it does on the other widget areas – everything is super close together. Also, the spacing between the content in the center of the page and the sidebar seems really close. Is there anyway to have the same spacing as the other widget areas, like the Pages widget area?
12. Right now, the tags are below the “Add to Cart” button, at the top of the product page, and offset to the right, as if they’re in their own invisible column. That’s the prime real estate for product promotion, whether it’s thumbnails or descriptions, or both. Ideally, the tags would not be so prominent on the page. One idea we really like is to have the tags hidden in a tab next to the “Description”. I don’t have “Reviews” enabled, but it could a tab like that – a “Tags” tab. That would clean up our page a lot and make the important content front and center. If that’s not possible, could the tags be moved to the very bottom of the product pages?
13. If you are able to do #12, and move the tags from the top of the product pages, we’d like to maximize that white space and get the “Excerpt” section back, like we used to have on the old Jigoshop. In that section, we used have highlights/key features of the product. We like the new CSS, and we’d like the Exceprt or “Features” beneath the “Add to Cart” button.
14. In regards to the top of the product page, we don’t know how other folks pages look, but there is a ton of unused white space (other than the prominent placement of the tags) that we prefer to maximize. Is it possible to have the picture thumbnails in a horizontal row underneath the featured image, like they are now, but allowing for as many pictures as possible to span the entire width of the body/content section. This is preferable, compared to the current layout of three pictures wide that stack down the left side in a column. When you have a bunch of pictures, this pushes your important Description information even further down the page. Here is a screenshot mock-up of what it would ideally look like: https://dev.simplebeadpatterns.com/mock-up/
Thank you so much, Marcin.
Sincerely,
Cara
All of the above should now be resolved.
Thank you, Marcin! It’s all working so much better, but there are some unresolved issues.
1. After migration, I was able to create a photo gallery on a product page, just like I’ve always done, but it’s not working now. I usually create a gallery, but I don’t add it to the page. It automatically puts the thumbnails below the large featured image. Right now, I can insert a gallery into the product, but it puts large photos at the top of the description and does not look right. Like I said, I don’t usually insert the galleries because I don’t like the way they look, so I just create the galleries and they show up nicely as small thumbnails. Any idea why I’m not able to create a gallery so that it looks like this one that I made last week, after migration? https://dev.simplebeadpatterns.com/product/cherry-blossom-float/
Also, if we can get the thumbnail gallery back (which we really need, and that’s what we’re waiting for right now, before we take the site live with our customers again) is it possible to have the picture thumbnails beneath the featured image in a long horizontal row, spanning the entire width of the body/content section. This is preferable, compared to the current layout of three pictures wide that stack down the left side in a column. When you have a bunch of pictures, this pushes your important Description information even further down the page. Here is a screenshot mock-up of what it would ideally look like: https://dev.simplebeadpatterns.com/mock-up/
2. In regards to the emails, they no longer have the nice HTML formatting they used to. Will we be able to have the color banner and formatted text in a future version update of Jigoshop eCommerce? I remember the orders used to look like this years ago, but then you released an update that made the emails look so much better.
3. Is there anyway to have an “Apply” button next to where you enter in a coupon code? It seems hard to know how to apply the coupon to the order, and it’s not obvious that you need to hit “Enter”.
4. I do see “Display Cart” option on the Theme Options page for the mini cart (yea!), but it’s not working. I don’t see the mini cart at the top of the page, even when I add something to my shopping cart.
5. When I type in a search for something in the Jigoshop search widget, the text result is very, very large. Can you tell me how to make that smaller?
6. I see you removed the tags from the tops of the product pages – thank you!!! Are they still being used in SEO? I just want to make sure that completely removing them from the pages does not hurt our search engine optimization.
7. We just added “Related Products” to the bottoms of our product pages. It’s very cool, but ideally we would use it to feature products that are actually related, instead of random products from our entire store. Is there a way to select which products are displayed there, and could it only display the products we select? Maybe the backend could be like the “Include Products” section when creating a coupon code – you could enter the product name or SKU to select each product.
8. If you’re able to do #7, then could the related products be spaced out like they are on our other pages? Also, could you tell us how to delete the product names from showing – so it only shows the picture, price and “Add to Cart” button, just like you did for us on our other pages?
9. In regards to the related products, we chose (4) in the “number of upsell products to display” settings, but it’s still only showing (3). It would be cool that, if we were able to select which related products show for each product, it would only show the products we select. For example, if some products showed 1 or 2 related products and others showed 3 or 4 (because some of our products are part of collections and are meant to go together).
Again, thank you so much. We really appreciate it!
Sincerely,
Cara
One more quick thing. We really like the “Features/Excerpt” section that you added on our product pages – thank you! Could you please tell us what file we can modify to adjust the space between the “Add to Cart” button and the “Features” heading? We just want to nudge the features/excerpt up a bit, so it’s a little closer to the “Add to Cart” button. We’re trying to figure it out, but we can’t find the right line of code.
Thanks!
Another thing… If I’m on a page with Jigoshop shortcodes and I add one or more products to my shopping cart, the green notification message with the “View Cart” button does not show up at the top of the page, until I click on a product, or a Jigoshop page, such as My Account, Cart or Checkout (off the menu). Then, the green messages show at the top, after the fact.
Thanks. : )
We figured out where the Features/Excerpt CSS is (from our second to last post), so we don’t need help with that anymore. We’re doing our best to learn as much as we can so we don’t bug you more than needed.
Thank you! : )
Just touching base. Here are our currently unresolved issues.

1. Just added one to the test product – no issues with adding pictures to the gallery.
Done
2. You can simply edit the e-mail’s contents like any other WordPress post ??
3. It would require some additional work – would you consider a “Hit Enter to apply” note viable?
4. It’s working now ??
5. Done – the style needs to refer to h1.page-title {}
6. Yes, they are.
7. Related products are random products from the same category – it would require some serious changes.
8. Done
9. Up-sells aren’t the same as related products ??
10. use the “display_messages” shortcode.
Regards,
MarcinThat’s go great! Thank you! A few things… : )
Note: In regards to creating a gallery, I was trying to create a gallery the way I used to (Add Media and Create Gallery) but that doesn’t work anymore. I did not realize that you needed to scroll down to the bottom of the page and create the gallery in the attachments box. My bad!
1. If it’s possible to add a “Hit Enter to Apply” note for the coupon code then that would be really great – thank you.
2. On the My Account page, if I click on “My Orders” to view the orders list and then click “View” on a particular order, the email address is not fitting into the billing and shipping address boxes. Also, if possible, can you tell me how to remove the Shipping address box from those pages as well? I don’t want to confuse our customers with a shipping address, since we don’t ship.
3. When I add a shortcode to a page to list products, there’s a “Next” button at the very end of the page, even when there’s nothing else to show. This is especially noticeable on pages with only a few products, such as our Dogs & Cats page: – https://dev.simplebeadpatterns.com/dogs-cats/. When you click “Next”, it just shows the same page again. Also, if you look at our Collections page, we have a bunch of shortcodes listed and there is a “Next” button after each shortcode: https://dev.simplebeadpatterns.com/collections/.
4. When I create a new product, it adds a “Files to Download” tab next to the “Description” tab. Is there a way to make it so that “Files to Download” tab is never created on any new products?
5. When you’re creating a product, there’s no place to enter the meta info, like there used to be. Will that effect our SEO? I used to enter a meta title for each product.
6. Thank you for fixing the look of the related products. : ) I have a question about them. I just created a category and added three products to that category. When I click on each of those products, they’re not showing related products from that category – they’re still showing random products from the whole site. Is that what’s supposed to happen, or is it supposed to show related products in the same category?
7. My hosting company just let me know that I have about 70 core dumps on the Dev.SimpleBeadPatterns.com website that we are setting up this new Jigoshop on. Do you know if these core dumps could have been created by the new version of Jigoshop eCommerce? We are not using this website with our customers yet, because we’re trying to get it ready to move back over to our main site. The core dump files say “Access Denied – The server was configured to not permit you access to the specified resource. If you believe this is in error or inadvertent, please contact the system administrator and ask them to update the host access files.” I just want to check and make sure that this new version of Jigoshop is not causing these errors. I deleted them from our account, and I’ll watch to see if anymore are created.
8. You mentioned that the “Available Downloads” section will be added to the My Account page in a future update of Jigoshop eCommerce. Are you able to provide a time estimate of when that will be available? It’s how our customers download their patterns. Thank you!
Again, thank you so much for all of your help. Everything is coming together! : )
Sincerely,
Cara
1. Note Added ??
2. Shipping Address removed.
3. Done
4. Stop adding files to the “Attachments -> Downloads” Tab – add them only to the “Product Data -> Downloads” Tab.
5. It shouldn’t.
6. Diagnosing.
7. It shouldn’t – Let me know which files are causing this.
8. Version 2.1
Hi Marcin,
Thank you very much!!!
1. There used to be an “Upload” button to add files to a product – “Product Data -> Downloads”. Now, there isn’t. Is there a way to get that back?
2. When we look at our website on a mobile device, the featured image is really small. Also, the Jigoshop Product Search widget is going past/over the sidebar, onto the page – covering up the product information text. Are those things you can help with, or are those theme settings?
3. Only when we’re on a Jigoshop page, the content of the left side navigation bar is out-denting past the header and menu. It appears correctly on all other (non-Jigoshop) pages.
Again, thank you!

Hi Marcin,
Okay! Here’s what we have left…
4. We’ve been trying, for days, to remove the “Description” tab from the product pages, without asking for your help. But, we have been unsuccessful so far. Could you tell us which page to modify to remove that tab? We want to keep the pace between the box with the content and the images, but we just want to get rid of the tab.
5. In regards to the “Available Downloads” section, that’s missing from the My Account page, I know you said it would be added in the next release of Jigoshop eCommerce. We’re just wondering if you could tell us if we’re looking at days, weeks or months? We’re working on this development site, to get the new Jigoshop eCommerce set up, while our main website, with the old Jigoshop, is still running and active. Once we clone the development website back to our main site, all of the tutorials that our customers have purchased, during this time period, will not be listed under the “Available Downloads” section (right?) So, we’re trying to work as quickly as possible. If the new release won’t be out for a while, is there code we could paste on the My Account page to temporarily create that “Available Downloads” section, or is there anything else we can do?
Again, thank you!

Hi Marcin,
We just updated to Jigoshop eCommerce 2.1. Here are the issues we still have…
1. I need to go through our website and re-upload hundreds of our digital files to attach to our products, since they were deleted due to the update. There used to be an “Upload” button to add files to a product – “Product Data -> Downloads -> File Path”. Now, there isn’t. Is there a way to get that back? It would make the process a lot faster and easier for us to attach all of the files to the products.
2. Each time I create a coupon code and try to apply it to an order, it says “Cannot apply coupon “coupon name”. The usage limit was reached.” I did not put any restrictions on the coupon codes, and this is still happening.
3. When we look at our website on a mobile device, the featured image is really small. Also, the Jigoshop Product Search widget is going past/over the sidebar, onto the page – covering up the product information text. Are those things you can help with, or are those theme settings?
4. Only when we’re on a Jigoshop page, the content of the left side navigation bar is out-denting past the header and menu. It appears correctly on all other (non-Jigoshop) pages.
5. We’ve been trying, for days, to remove the “Description” tab from the product pages, without asking for your help. But, we have been unsuccessful so far. Could you tell us which page to modify to remove that tab? We want to keep the space between the box with the content and the images, but we just want to get rid of the Description tab.
6. It looks like the “Available Downloads” section is still not on the My Account page, even after the update. Is there code we could paste on the My Account page to temporarily create that “Available Downloads” section, or is there anything else we can do? This is keeping us from releasing the site to our customers because they need to be able to download their patterns from the My Account page. Also, we’re working on this development site, to get the new Jigoshop eCommerce set up, while our main website, with the old Jigoshop, is still running and active. Once we clone the development website back to our main site, all of the tutorials that our customers have purchased, during this time period, will not be listed under the “Available Downloads” section – is that correct? So, we’re trying to work as quickly as possible.
7. It looks like the Jigoshop Wishlist and Customer Discounts plugins that we paid for are still not working. Do you have an ETA for those?
Again, thank you!
