I’m looking for a way to present posts from three different blogs on one page. Or possibly just from three distinct categories. Doesn’t matter to me. The idea is to keep certain topics separate, esp. in terms of syndication, while presenting the most recent post from each on my home page.

I want to understand how a generic blog puts a post on a front page. I then want to make that page into three columns so that each column can receive a separate stream of postings, like Topic A, Topic B, Topic C. Lined up next to each other.

How would one format the page and or set up the blogs to maintain that separation?

I’ve been looking at some of the multi-blog/database info at
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_Multiple_Blogs
    https://mu.www.ads-software.com
and thinking I don’t need all that power, and that what I’m after may be do-able with a single installation.

    Any suggestions?

Maybe having 3 separate categories? And using 3 Loops to display them separately on your front page. WP is using the Loop described at the page linked to display posts.
As for syndication, WordPress creates by default feeds for each category.

The rest is just a matter of theme design in order to have the 3 Loops in 3 columns, as you’ve described it.

Thank you for that tip. I’ll look at the documentation and see how far I get…
