I have inherited a site that is using the Pods plugin. It has journal entries which can be found here – About > Biography > Journal.

I want to use another plugin to format a normal blog page, with posts, but it is being overridden by the Pods plugin and so there is no formatting showing at all.

I’m not sure what else the Pods plugin is doing in the site? Could I safely delete it, or can I just disable the journal entries function (this would be preferable, I think).

Can you give any advice please?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I think the site uses Pods auto templates. You can simply disable these within the Pods.
See Pods > Edit Pods > The post type (“post” I think?) and you and disable the auto templates so it reverts to the default theme again.

Thanks very much for that, I’ll have a look.

    Hi Jory

It’s very odd, as I did what you suggested but the ordinary post layout still doesn’t show up.

Then I deactivated the Pods plugin completely, but still no change, my ordinary Posts layout is still be overidden… by something.

I can, however, see the Pods code showing up on the Journal page (front end), showing that it is disabled, but the journal entries are still there. Surely if I disable the Pods module, the Journal entries should disappear? I don’t understand why they would still show on the front end of the site? You can see what I mean here:

    Help gratefully received.

Okay, I’ve got rid of the Pods journal entries now, but the ordinary blog still doesn’t work. Should I ask the theme creators instead of you?

    Hello @tig1960

I believe this is indeed a different issue, unrelated to Pods.
It could also be static page cache but I assume you already removed that.

    Cheers, Jory
